Emergence of eLearning and Trends
The Brain and Learning
In collaboration with peers, we explored eLearning and different trends we were noticing at the time.
Together with my peers, we created a website using Google Sites to inform others about strategies to use in the classroom to best meet the needs of students and their brains.

Striving for Engagement Through the Project-based Learning Method

Career Inquiry
I participated in inquiry in order to transform eLearning courses to a blended learning platform in hopes of helping learners who have faced countless challenges in education, those with drastic skill gaps and trauma.
With a desire to do anything I can to help engage at-risk students, I have chosen to use the project-based learning (PBL) method in my classroom. I chose to look further into studies focused on PBL and the advantages and disadvantages for students.
Research and reflection led me to finally establish my vision, mission, and future aspirations.

Instructional Videos Presented Through a Google Sites Web Page
Exploring Audacity as a recording tool, LAME as an MP3 converter, and SoundCloud to distribute audio, a fun little podcast was created.
Through the use of Powtoon and Youtube, a quick video was created and presented.
Here you will find a novice approach to creating step-by-step videos for students to complete a project. To ensure easy access, the videos were displayed on a website created in Google Sites, solely for that purpose.

Solution Design for a Non-profit
A partner and I found a non-profit organization through the United Nations (UN) that we had interest in. We were able to explore the organization, its staff, and its goals in order to design a solution that might help everyone excel further in reaching their goals. We developed an online module to train staff and volunteers in various aspects of the organization. The document provided features our analysis, the instructional design model and framework used to create the training, our proposed learning solution, and so much more.

Facilitating Live Events
A pecha kucha formatted presentation was created using Google Slides and VideoPad to inform students about our We Grow team's purpose, focus, and activities. This video was used as a kick-off introduction to our team to entice our students and engage them in the experience presented.
Through Piktochart, I created an infographic for parents and students who are new to our school, which introduces them to project-based learning, where this type of learning is taking place across the country and around the world, the benefits, and the essentials.
Individually and later with a group of my peers, I facilitated webinars using Zoom. I was able to hold a live event about how to use Photopea.com to create and adapt icons and images. With peers, I helped facilitate a live event discussing various video and audio tools. In addition, documents were created for promotion and learning aid purposes.

Blended Learning Course in Schoology
Using Adobe Captivate for the first time, I was able to create a responsive mobile mini-lesson for students. The high-level design plan for this elearning experience is provided.
Through the use of Canvas, I created an eLearning course for students that allows them to proceed through multiple activities/assignments on their own and in their own time, but one that also requires them to meet up periodically to improve organization, time-management, communication, and leadership skills.
Using the Schoology LMS, I now create various courses to use in my classroom. In our blended learning and PBL environment, many teachers use Schoology to house all of their materials and assignments; I have created several courses in this LMS so that students always have access and always know what we are doing so as not to find themselves behind in classes if/when they are absent on any given day. Provided here are the components that made up a field project for the creation of one of these courses.
